Album Notes

The Mazmanian family has excited audiences in the United States and Canada.
with thrilling performances of folk-inspired classics from around the world and their own Armenian heritage.

The San Francisco Chronicle has described the Mazmanians’ music-making
as "delightful, charming, flashy and charismatic!" Their first CD “It’s the Mazmanians!” featuring lively and soulful Gypsy, Spanish, Armenian and Latin American tunes certainly fits that description!

Violinist dad Greg is a Juilliard grad who has performed as a soloist in the United States, Canada and Asia. The San Francisco Chronicle has described his playing as "sheer classiness" while The Strad of London has praised his "thrilling virtuoso flair!" Son, Eddy and daughter, Rose are also highly accomplished violinists while their sister Ida is an award-winning pianist.

Praise from noted musicians crosses over all genres:

Celebrated oud virtuoso Richard Hagopian calls this CD “a thrilling debut of a virtuoso family of musicians"

Grammy nominated jazz fiddler Jeremy Cohen of Quartet San Francisco says it is "family music-making displayed at its finest."

Concert violinist James Stern lauds “a level of lively spontaneity that is rarely heard,,,bravo!”

Peter Noone from the legendary Herman's Hermits has "become a 'Mazmaniac' after hearing the wonderful CD!"

The Contra Costa Times calls the Mazmanian family “a rare breed that plays everything from Armenian, Spanish, and Gypsy folk music to classics such as Vivaldi’s Four Seasons!”

Diablo Magazine calls the enthusiasm generated by their appearances “Maz-Hysteria”!

As Greg recalls the ensemble’s genesis: “There was no pre-set strategy or plan! Our family ensemble has grown organically into what it is because the kids saw and heard my daily fiddle practice around the house and eventually wanted to join in the fun!” The rest is Mazmanian history!!
