ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Maureen Burke Santos was born in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania in 1957 to two teachers. After preparing for college she had an opportunity to tour the country singing and playing music. This changed the course of her future - she spent the next 25 years in the performing arts while studying music theory, voice, guitar and piano with private teachers.

She now makes Cape Cod Massachusettes her home base. Here she continues honing her performing as well as her writing skills playing both as a single performer and in her own trio.
Maureen's music is probably best summed up in this quote taken from the Cape Cod Times "Maureen Burke Santos has delighted audiences from Cape Cod to the Rockie Mountains with her finely crafted original music as well as her powerful interpretations of works by other songwriters. A stunning vocalist, her guitar style is a unique blend drawn from such various influences as folk, fingerpicking styles, blues and light jazz. Maureen is a veteran performer with a reputation for music that has a warmth and beauty you won't be able to forget."

A genuine talent
You wont' find a better rendition of "Round Midnight anywhere! The "Ballad of the Whiddah" is born out of just mere observation on the part of the artist and shows her talent and originality at its best. I love Maureen's voice because it is pure, gentle and soothing. I would recommend this CD to anyone who likes to sit quiety and become inspired.
