Album Notes
The New York Times once called Mark McAdam a “singer-songwriter” whereas the The Post refers to him as an “indie-rocker.” McAdam cancelled his subscription to the Times.

His new album, Cavalcade, is a triumph of homespun enthusiasm, chock full of infectious mood swings. It has more in common with Big Star or The Band than any of the pinup teen idols who have recently spoiled and defiled the label “singer-songwriter.”

This is the kind of record you want to tell your friends about.

Cavalcade features contributions from Rain Phoenix (Papercranes), Jon Graboff (Ryan Adams, Willie Nelson), and several members of Coney Island Swandive, including Superproducer Rod Sherwood (Dirty On Purpose, Au Revoir Simone, Pela). The video for the first single “Always Almost,” marks the directorial debut of actor Mike Myers. You can find that at youtube or at McAdam’s myspace page.

Below are some quotes about McAdam’s last record, Boy Wonder…

Beautiful, fabulous, incredible. Sweet, lightly raspy, melodic, excellent vocals, wonderfully-fit lyrics, poppy, weepy, gorgeous guitar melodies, and clever structures reign in each and every song. - Action Attack Helicopter

A low-key, hidden gem of a record. The kind of album Wilco might make if they never read their own press clippings. - All Music Guide

McAdam passes through one musical room to another, but always with the kind of relaxed skill that most musicians secretly aspire to. - Amplifier

...imaginative, crisp, smart and inventive. We have gone completely apeshit over this album. -

Boy Wonder is perceptive and lonely, alternately sparse and lavish, evocative and amusing, ... One of the most intelligent, enjoyable albums I’ve heard in a long time. -Splendid

The whole CD is awesome from the words to the instruments it is always a pleasure to hear really good music!!!! great job.

What a find!!
What a find! Superb atmospheric songs sounding like John Phillips Wolfking of LA with steel guitar backing, laid back country from Golden Smog and unbelievably Gram Parsons and Emmylou. Class all the way deserves to be huge

great follow up to "Boy Wonder" some relly good songs
This album has that craftmanship quality to it, and knowing the artist and the video from "Always Almost" you get that feeling. I really like the honesty of all the work put in to it and the high quality of the songs, although some are a bit more on the folk side than Boy Wonder. Good lyrics and a good spirit. I bought 3 CD's so I can spread the word a bit in Portugal about him.

Awesome CD-Mark McAdam is extremely talented!
The CD is a great follow-up to Mark's first CD. I love it!

With Cavalcade, McAdam stakes claim on new thematic ground...
With Cavalcade, McAdam stakes claim on new thematic ground without turning his back on the tried and true musicianship of Boy Wonder. This is a playful collection of songs and styles for grown-up kids looking at the world through cracked windows, longing for memories half-forgotten and drifting in a cloud of uncertainty. McAdam can rightfully add another feather to his cap. Bravo!

A soothing, and trendy mix
Mark McAdam is the real deal. Cavalcade is amazing, and it's a wonderful mix of soulful sounds, and trendy, talented lyrics. "Drunken Waltz" with Rain Phoenix is my favorite, but Marks voice seduces and tantalizes you throughout the whole album. GET THIS ALBUM IF YOU WANT TO FEEL GOOD!

Tremendous mixture of sublime melodies with unpredictable musical arrangements.
Cavalcade keeps you guessing on what is to follow. Each song takes you to a different place...sometimes within one track. Its combination of bluegrass, country, pop, and folk is effortlessly blended together to form a compelling and captivating album.

This cd made me want to pick up my guitar and play. It's simple, intricate, and beautiful all rolled into one collection of fine music.
