ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Jim McComas is a Free Will Baptist Pastor from Creston, Ohio. Jim began preaching and singing at a very early age. From the time he was old enough to walk on stage, he sang with his mother and sister in "The McComas Gospel Trio". Saved in 1975 at the age of 6, Jim felt the call of God on his life to preach the Gospel just a couple years later and actually preached his first message at the age of 9. Jim continued preaching and singing through his teenage years, and in 1989 was a part of the formation of The Representatives Quartet, a group which he still continues to sing baritone in today nearly 20 years later. In 1992 he married his wife Beth, and in January of 1993 he became Pastor of Sterling Free Will Baptist Church. During his 15 years as Pastor, God has tremendously blessed the Church with record growth resulting in a complete location of the Church to five acres in Creston, a name Change to Canaan Free Will Baptist Church, and two building programs resulting in over 20,000 square feet of new contruction which include a fellowship hall, 12 classrooms, offices, and a 500 seat sanctuary. During these years the Church has grown in attendance from 60 to over 300, to God be all the Glory. Along with serving the wonderful folks at Canaan FWB, Jim serves the Ohio State Association of Free Will Baptists as a Member of the Board of Directors, and also does several Revivals and Camp Meetings around the country throughout the year. Jim and Beth live with their sons Matthew and Aaron in Creston, Ohio. Along with singing in the Representatives Quartet, Jim also has written several songs which have been recorded by various groups across the country. In 2000, top Southern Gospel Group "The McKameys" from Clinton, Tennessee recorded Jim's song "He Went a Little Farther" on their "Waiting" CD. This song was recorded on The McKamey's "HomeTown Live" Video which won The Singing News Fan Award for "Video of the Year" in 2001. Jim has recently released his first SOLO Musical Project entitled "Legacy". A tribute to all the Godly influences on his life down through the years, this CD contains 12 songs, including a re-recording of The McKameys song "He Went a Little Farther", and a song called "Heroes", a tribute to several preachers that invested themselves in Jim's life. He hopes that the music will be a blessing to each one who experiences it, and thanks you for stopping by and listening.
