Album Notes
Lynn gathered around her a star studded cast of Canadian Jazz Aristocracy. Guido Basso, Mike Murley and David Restivo is enough in one breath but to go on with Jim Vivian and Ted Warren and James MacDonald and arrangements by the one and only John MacLeod .
Phil Sheridan did a shimmering job of recording this before he won his lifetime achievement award and died shortly thereafter. Lynn has alot of CDs under her belt but this one really found her a place on the airwaves in Canada
This CD has alot of great Canadian jazz energy and also displays Lynn's virtuosic vocal ability.
The CD has much staying power and sales still attest to the fact that people are enjoying It's High Time as much today as they did when it was recorded in 97.Lynn loves songs that tell a story and Something Cool and Guess Who I saw Today? are great epic stories, Sting's They Dance alone tells of Chilean women dancing in front of the soldiers who torture and rape them, they dance with the photos of their lost brothers, husbands and sons pinned to their dresses. Very poignant.Lynn currently teaches jazz vocals at York University, Toronto.
