Times Like These

Folk-Rock at it's best! The band's final show, recorded live. The best of their fan's favorites, plus seven great new songs. A mix of beautiful ballads, wild instrumentals, and 'in the pocket' solid groovers. The album they always wanted to make!

Album Notes
"Times Like These" is a live recording of the band's final show, from May 2013, at the legendary Douglas Corner in Nashville. This is the album they always wanted to make - energetic, fun, great songs, tight grooves, dynamic solos, lovingly recorded and mixed. With Michael Dreyfuss and Marty Slutsky's soaring, innovative solos, Chris Bishop's solid, locked-in bass, Fran McKendree's soulful, compelling vocals and honorary 'Springers Alan Stoker [drums] and Paul Hollowell [keys], this recording really captures the heart and soul of their signature sound. Guest appearances by Rock Williams [sax] and Sharon Ferrara and Carol Anderson [vocals]. A great band, a magic night, a moving and heartfelt farewell.

As great as ever
McKendree Spring has been a favorite of mine for many, many years. Imagine my excitement when I saw that they had a new release on CD Baby. I purchased the flac download immediately. Suffice it to say, I wish that they had recorded much more in the intervening years. They truly were, and are, one of America's great 'unknown' bands. The song selection is great, and, the sound is especially good.
Do yourself a favor, get this recording, devour it, then get any or all of their older recordings that you can find. You will not be disappointed.
