Album Notes
In 1995 critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Kevin McKrell met Winfield banjo champion Chris Leske and nationally renowned flatpick guitarist Craig Vance. Kevin McKrell, , Chris Leske and Craig Vance began performing what Tim Farrel of Bluegrass in Review calls “ a unique style of music that makes it hard to determine where the Celtic stops and the Bluegrass begins”. The McKrells went on to play Carnegie Hall “... The McKrells Carnegie Hall performance was golden and triumphant. Every solo was met with applause, and every song punctuated with a roar...” Paul Rapp, Metroland Magazine. They won the prestigious Winterhawk Bluegrass Festival Band Contest, and have shared stages with the top Bluegrass and Celtic performers in the world today, Solas, Altan, Mary Black, Maura O'Connell, The Furey Brothers, Allison Krause, Sam Bush, Francis Black, Allison Brown.

John O'Regan of the European music magazine Rock and Reel Magazine writes” The McKrells combine the high lonesome Bluegrass heart with the poignancy of Irish music. Top dollar roots music “. Of The McKrells Bluegrass Unlimited says “... The McKrells sound is refreshing and unique. At times they remind me of Seldom Scene, Irish folk singer Robbie O'Connell with a touch of Southern Rail... “. Bluegrass Now writes “... The songwriting talent in this band is mindboggling...” The McKrells have added to the original trio lineup with world music percussionist Brian Melick and fiddle sensation Sara Milonovich . The McKrells have been voted Bluegrass Band of the Year in 2000 and 2001 by The Northeast Country Music Association as well as Acoustic Band of the Year 3 years running by Metroland magazine. The McKrells were given their own day by their home city of Saratoga Springs and have been honored with the Spirit of Saratoga Award for contributing to the growth of the arts and to the quality of life in Saratoga Springs ,as well as being inducted into the Capitol District Music Hall of Fame.

Milt Nesbitt

Fabulous Music
This music ranks right up there with the Beatles. The lyrics and melodies mix so well together it is a must listen for everyone. If you don'thave it get it.

J and S Pollock

Every album gets better and better. Like being at a Mckrell's concert. Lively to thought provoking. (Hit The Ground Running) to (The Routine) to (Brown Eyed September) This album has it all.

Kevin DiGirolamo

Absolute polished perfection!
The harmony between Kevin and Sara on this CD make the hair on my arms stand up. Great new music.

Beverly Faulkner

Their sound just gets better as the years roll on!!
I had the grand pleasure of hearing the McKrells for the first time at "The Parting Glass" about 15 years ago and was impressed by their Celtic/Bluegrass sound ...I liked them then, and I like them now...they just keep getting better as the years roll on!

Rick Sherin

Awesome perfection...The McKrells hit the high note again. Beautiful!
Another collection of great tunes by a great band... My favorite is the poignant and beautfully melodic "Take Care of Those Wings My Friend". And, "The Last Place" truly makes the heart ache for home. The McKrells just keep gettin better and better!
