Album Notes
John R. Mirland the musician behind Mechanical Principle grew up in the 80's listening to Patrick Cowley, Bobby "O", Jarre, Laser Dance, Koto and everything synth pop, italo, dance, industrial - whatever as long as it's electronic. Over the years he's played drums in several bands, composed noise, ambient, industrial, minimal and dance. He's remixed officially for a.o. danish EBM icon Leaether Strip and released a handful of unofficial remixes too.

"Outpost" is the official debut for Mechanical Principle. A steady flow of tracks have been "released" as tasters and experiments over the last year before Mechanical Principle got picked up New York based label Audio Visual Algebra. "Outpost" is melodic, "bigger" and a pointer to where Mechanical Principle and Mirland is heading: Straight back to the future!
