ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Megan's music has an intimate, vulnerable and at times spirited sound. She is a songwriter and musician who brings her words to life with a strong, soulful and expressive voice. New was created and produced with passion for both music and for storytelling. The strength and depths of her lyrics are influenced by her affinity for poetry.

New is a story about a journey that many have been through; one that many are still on. It's about truly understanding where and who you are, have been and will be. It's an examination into fault and fortitude. It's about discovering what we'd like to change about ourselves, and learning to love what we'd like to change but cannot. It's about forgiving yourself for what you have done to others and to yourself, forgiving others for what they have done to you, and how to move forward from there. It's about having the courage to try again, to become better, to be reborn, to be new.

A quote from a fellow writer:

"Before I met Megan, I wasn't aware of any young writers of today's America who could truly use phrases and poetic meter to embody their experiences too clearly or even with great intrigue. In fact, too many youth allow outside influence to hinder instead of grow their works and therefore leave the audiences lacking the fullness of the total musical and lyrical experience. Megan has recaptured a lost art. Her style, which feels reminiscent of classic 1900s Americana from the smooth acoustic statement era of the 60s back into early prohibition cool cat jazz and more, is truly hope for today's generations to find a little more love in tracks like her "Don't Forget Tonight" and a whole lot of courage as in "Humble Me". She's as real as it gets, and she's only just begun." -Hannah RJ
