At last! Here is a "Greatest Hits" CD with a few songs from my very first LP In The Megan Manner, released on Wooden Nickel Records RCA. I was 18. I wrote Guitar Picker after my producers told me I needed a rock song - that I was too ballad heavy. I wrote the first things that came to mind. Not thinking ;
I'm a guitar picker
I'm a Popsicle licker
And I'm strung out on Mickey Mouse
could be such "interesting" lyrics. I had just been to Disney World, and literally eating Popsicles every day! Before I even learned, "Write what you know".
On this CD are songs I wrote way back then, songs I wrote with The Four Bitchin' Babes, and later songs that came from a place of Spiritual studies.
Before and ever since I played Patsy Cline in Always…Patsy Cline I have loved Crazy -
Good Thing He Can't Read My Mind is a Christine Lavin song. I think Chris is one of the absolute best song CRAFTERS on the planet. She makes me laugh every time! I love this song, and just had to include it.
Train Leaving Dallas is by 2 writers I admire and feel blessed to know Thom Bishop and Billy Panda. When I first heard this song - I was hooked! And much to the dismay of my neighbors - played it constantly!
(Hmm… is there a pattern of compulsion here? Popsicles…songs...)
One more thing - I called it Greatest Hits to be funny - but I am grateful knowing that my friends/fans really do consider these songs hits, and wanted to hear them again!
Y'all spoil me~ Thank you.
