Legenda

by Megitza Quartet

Mostly original and some folk music. Energetic and lively from start to finish with no shortage of foot tapping and hooky melodies. Passionate powerful vocals, stampeding drums, festive bayan, and symphonic driven guitar make it a true treat for the soul.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This 2012 release, "Legenda" (tr. legend), features mostly original and some folk music performed and arranged by the Megitza Quartet. Energetic and lively from start to finish, with no shortage of foot tapping and hooky melody throughout.  There is something for everybody, from the passionate powerful vocals of a Polish Highlander Maggie Babiarz, the stampeding drums and percussion of Jamie Gallagher, the festive ethnic flare of a Polish bayan player Marek Lichota, to symphonic driven sounds of an acoustic guitarist of a Greek decent Andreas Kapsalis. All that makes "Legenda" as enjoyable for the ear as it is for the soul.
