Excellent Voice Outstanding Music
Thom Meinert does it again, tugging at the heartstrings of listeners with his contemplative lyrics and sincere delivery in his recent release, "This Ole' Guitar." The song is a touching tribute to the country legends of old, and is told as a story of father, son and a love of music that binds them together, communicated through the gift of an "ole' guitar."

The catchy and skilled guitar-work on this track show that Meinert continues to hone his craft beautifully, further refining his already polished style. I have to give rave reviews again for his voice as well--those low tones are just buttery-smooth and a pleasure to the ear. His range is sure and strong; never faltering in the least--and always enjoyable.

Meinert is obviously in love with his chosen musical style--it shines through clearly in the fact that he is taking the time to tip his hat to the fine musicians that have gone before him, and in the passion with which he pursues his music. The respect for his craft is reflected in the reverence he holds for both.

The ease with which he sings and plays the guitar leave you free to enjoy the message that the lyrics deliver. So often, good country music keeps the message simple, yet sings about those moments in life that really and truly affect us all--by highlighting the emotions that we all have in common. Even though the situation in this song may not be one that we all experience, the feelings that are expressed are relatable and true. "This Ole' Guitar" is another fine example of Meinert's ability to get at the core of what we all feel inside, much like his previous release, "Peaceful Someday."
