Album Notes
Album Liner Notes (from the Artist/Producer):

“When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.” (Exodus 3:12)

These are the words of the eternal God to Moses, the chosen deliverer of the children of Israel. This deliverer was to lead a people enslaved in Egypt out of their bondage and into a land of promise; not just one flowing with physical milk and honey, but also one where they would be a chosen people in relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, who is “compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin” (Exodus 34:6). No longer would they be alone. He would be the one to fight for them against their enemies (Exodus 14:14); to heal their diseases (Exodus 15:26); to water their land and provide for their needs (Deuteronomy 11:11-15). This all powerful El Shaddai himself described how he carried His chosen people “on eagles wings” to make them His “treasured possession.” If they kept His covenant, they would be “a kingdom of priests and a holy nation” (Exodus 19:4-6). This story is one of deep love; one of affection; one of redemption. Through it all, God was drawing them close. Thousands of years later, another prophet and deliverer (Deuteronomy 18:15-19) would open the way to a living and intimate relationship with God by reiterating the words of the covenant and writing them not on tablets of stone, but upon our hearts (Jeremiah 31:33-34). He would be the “Yeshua” (salvation) prophetically promised in the Song of Moses and Miriam (Exodus 15:2). Through this deliverer we would be drawn not to a mountain blazing with smoke and fire, as Sinai, but to Mount Zion of the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God (Hebrews 12:18-24). The eternal desire of the eternal God is for us to draw near to Him; that we would be His people, and that He would be our God.

It is my prayer that as you listen to this album, which chronicles the amazing story described above, that your heart would desire to be near to God, for His nearness to us is our good (Psalm 73:28). As you hear the words of His Torah set to music, may your committment to “Sh’ma” (hear and obey) grow stronger – that you may truly love Him with all of your heart, soul and strength (Deuteronomy 6:4-5), and that you would be filled with joy in His presence (Psalm 16:11).

In Yeshua’s love,
Melissa David
