Women Are The Only Hope

by Mendelson Joe

The tunes are a cross-section of Joe’s past and present influences; the thump and grind of the blues, the lush, sweetly melancholic mood of a ballad, and a potent message and melody is thoroughly, unmistakeably and irresistably Mendelson Joe.

Album Notes
Women Are The Only Hope

I write mid-summer 2011. At sixty-seven I've been very lucky - I haven't lost my marbles. Most of my childhood theories have proven true. My point? Women are the only hope. I recorded this batch of self-penned, self-produced songs back in '91. The musicians all played in exchange for "Joe" art (paintings of my creation). Herewith follows the list of muses and vocalists.
Ben Mink- mandolin, violin & electric guitar

Bob Wiseman - accordion
Scott Irvine - tuba
G.L. Weinrib - bass
Dianne Heatherington - vocals
Anne Hansen - belch
M. Joe - vocals, guitar, drums, keyboards, harmonica, foot and grunts

This work was recorded at Brock Sound, Toronto by Brock Fricker. Ben Mink mixed at Brock Sound. M. Joe designed the package, wrote these writings, painted the painting of Maude Barlow and took the photos. Belinda Moretto processed the photos at Cavalcade Color, Huntsville, Ontario. I rethank all for their worthy work. Finally, all M. Joe recordings, books, paintings and repros are available at The Karen Robinson Gallery, Emsdale, Ontario, Canada. My thanks and love to Karen. Very finally, the greatest wealth is your H E A L T H. Peace, M. Joe
