Album Notes

Mercedes Nicole is an American-born acoustic blues & Jazz singer –songwriter. She grew up in Long Beach California and currently resides in Seattle Washington together with her Cameroonian and tour manager, Emmanuel Asongwe

Nicole music has stayed number 1 on the Number One Music Charts, and the top 40 playlist on Reverb Nation for over six months. She has headlined on both the major stages of Demetrio’s Jazz Alley and The Triple Door, Westport Blues Festival, Panache Music Festival and numerous festivals and events throughout the country. Critics say she is an exquisite blend of Contralto, Soprano and Alto. Think Carmen McCray, Mahila Jackson and the female version of Eric Bibb, whom she calls ‘a Messenger from God”.

Mercedes is a member of the Washington Blues Society, and the American Songwriters Association (ASCAP).
‘Nicole performs a “stripped-down, acoustic, gospel-infused folk-blues-Jazz with grace, eloquence, and gentleness.” She electrifies the very air we breathe.

Bringing back that magic of Steve Peterson, on guitar, Wayne Bliss on Bass and a new found member, Eneko Rodriguez on violin, this song will bath you in a still peace and warmth that lingers.

Blues, Old Time, Cajun, Country, Soul and Swing. Roots music is the music these gentlemen play on guitars, banjos, fiddle, mandolin and harmonica. It is also the music Mercedes’ sings. A wide repertoire of all variety of songs. This evenings songs that will be a mix of traditional, original and interpreted.

“…these are some of the finest musicians who are well versed in so many interrelated genres when it comes to roots, Americana, blues, Jazz, you name it, Peterson, Bliss and Rodriguez, have got it under their belts in a big way! Any chance I get to listen to them, and then play with them is a chance I’ll leap at.” – Mercedes Nicole, interview with Rick Jammer (Jamsphere Music Magazine) April 12, 2015
