Peace

by Merrill Collins & Phoebe Crenshaw

A lyrical ballad, complemented by the cello, embraces the vision of peace from a tangible perspective. Peace was originally written in 1983 and was a theme song of the peace movement in San Francisco. This is the first recording of PEACE since then.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Phoebe is a professional musician, graphic designer, and fine artist living in Los Angeles, California. Having been encouraged to pursue her passion for the arts at an early age, Phoebe has performed in numerous musical, theater, television and studio productions since the age of three. Music is also the foundation of her visual art inspiration. She believes that art moves the soul and calls its audience to action in some way. She also views artistic collaboration as an opportunity to organically "create + inspire," which serves as her artist manifesto. www.phoebecrenshaw.com
History of this song :
"Peace" was originally written and produced in 1983 and became a theme song of the peace movement at that time in San Francisco. Merrill Collins was composer in residence of Pathways to Peace 1986 and 1987 and many performances of this song took place at peace events .
Hannibal Means also sang this song at a Christmas concert in Vienna in 1991, after which we were invited to perform it on Austrian National TV , ORF, on Christmas Day for the annual fundraiser "Licht ins Dunkle" ( Light in the Darkness ). This annual broadcast is a fundraiser for feeding the hungry people in the population of the country.
There have been no recent productions of Peace until now. I am happy to bring this forward again with Phoebe Crenshaw as vocalist and may we all join in on carrying the vision of peace in the minds of seven billion people, of all humankind ~~~~~~~!Thanks for joining us, Merrill Collins
