ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Meshugga Beach Party are back, bringing you the supercharged sounds of a Hot Rod Hanukkah!

Join the meshuggeners as they cruise around town like a bunch of wild wisenheimers - we'll be the envy of all the boychiks and maydeles, rollin' down the main drag on our way to Hershel's Delicatessen for some corned beef sandwiches and egg creams...

This new album features new original material as well as new takes on classics. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist DUANE EDDY joins the group for "Shleppin' and Kvetchin'", their yiddishe take on his 1958 hit "Movin' and Groovin'"!

Behold! A great miracle has come to pass
After two brilliant albums of dazzling Jewish surf, Mel Waldorf and his khaveyrim did it again - and believe it or not, this one tops it all. Their new disc is an awe-inspiring masterpiece with tight-packed, perfectly recorded sound, swirling organ, superb whammy and reverb, and a plethora of haunting middle-eastern melodies. Of the eighteen tracks, eight are taken from "Chosen Surfers", presented here in versions even more sophisticated and stirring. It closes with Hot Rod Hanukkah, a Beach Boys-styled vocal number with strong chorus and a party feel. Voices in surf music? Vey ist mir! - Not so, however, with lyrics like these... The gaudy digipak sports some merry band photos and again, we're treated to delightful liner notes for each single song. Among the great modern surf bands of today, MBP are the most humorous and likeable, paying homage to a venerable culture that has always known how to take joke. - Wherever you look, you won't find a better surf CD than this one.
