Album Notes
Metolius Breaks recordings will be how most fans will discover Mark Prey and the Hunters. No Sleep Tonight opens as a psychotic journey into a noise filled sleepless night and launches with stereo guitar blasts followed by an infectious groove and soaring harmonies. The Hunters then take a bluesy left turn when you hear the sounds of acoustic and pedal steel guitars rolling and then breaking into Giving Up the Ghost, it is impossible to ignore the impulse to move with the funky and mesmerizing rhythms of this truly great tune destined for a large audience. Winding down as Giving Up the Ghost fades away we reawaken to water gently moving over rocks, rustling trees and joyful birds singing while Metolius Breaks pulls us inward to this new and beautiful place . These songs show the deep contrast between artists torn between thoughts they are trying to control and events they can't, or they have no interest in controlling. Tricky and Throw me a bone are light hearten larks about broken trust and bruised love laced with startling guitar passages and tasteful arrangements. Burning Trees is a surreal and stunning vision into a painful world of dying hope and lost opportunity, presented with moving lead vocal and haunting harmonies. Win Place or Show is the perfect pop song that shines a light on what it takes to compete and win in our hearts. The hard edged Bow to the King of Fools belies a feeling of pulsing power and rage fueled lyrics highlighting the insecurities of life's challenges. As a combined work Mark Prey and friends Metolius Breaks has captured the essence of what musical contrast is really needed to make an album interesting to listen to from beginning to end.
Bravo to Mark Prey and the Hunters for this Magnum Opus Metolius Breaks in 2013.

Hand Clapping Fun
This is really feel good music with memorable hooks and great writing. I would love to see this band in concert sometime but I never have seen them on tour, that is a shame because this band would be great to see and hear live.
