Album Notes
In the world of instrumental acoustic guitar music, Michael Gulezian (gu-LAY-ze-in) was always ahead of the curve. In this debut recording on his own Timbreline Music imprint, Gulezian takes a giant leap forward from the solo virtuosity of his acclaimed Unspoken Intentions release. On DISTANT MEMORIES AND DREAMS, Gulezian's distinctive acoustic guitar finds its voice centered in a world-class group of artists, including David Darling (acoustic and electric cello), Ted Moore (percussion), and Fernando Saunders (bass).

Among other radio milestones, DISTANT MEMORIES AND DREAMS spent an astonishing thirteen months in heavy rotation on Public Radio International's "Echoes" program. Jazziz Magazine said " ... Gulezian has a knack for combining earthy folk techniques with contemporary jazz harmonies and exotic influences, only his approach remains entirely acoustic. ... a wondrous sense of lyricism ... unforgettable." CD Review Magazine named DISTANT MEMORIES AND DREAMS runner-up "Disc of the Year" (New Age) (January. '93).
