Album Notes
“Saving America”

“The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life.” – John F. Kennedy, Inaugural Address, Jan. 20, 1961, Washington, D.C.

“Saving America,” the title-track single off his forthcoming fifth album, released world wild through itunes. “Saving America” is a clarion call for progressive change from a Canadian to his neighbors south of the border. “We love you America,” sings Behm, who begins the track with an audio clip of JFK’s famous speech before suggesting (in cleverly veiled metaphors) that the country needs another leader equally inspiring to address the legacy of the Bush presidency.

Recorded and produced in Behm’s state-of-the-art home studio, “Saving America” is as artfully written, smoothly crafted and densely hook-laden as his previous single “The Art of Letting Go,” which scored significant radio airplay across Canada in 2007/08. The song was mixed in Vancouver by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Elvis Costello, Metallica, Sam Roberts) and mastered at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Los Angeles by Brian “Big Bass” Gardner (whose credits stretch from Creedence Clearwater Revival in the 1960s to a who’s who of contemporary hitmakers).

Behm sang, played guitar and handled the lion’s share of the instrumentation on Saving America, the single and album, with assistance from drummer Pat Steward (The New Odds, Bryan Adams).

Great album featuring creative lyrics and power chords
Talented artist Michael Behm, no stranger to the music scene, has released his fifth album, titled “Saving America.” A Canadian, Behm projects his insights about his neighbors that are south of the border through his music. This album offers up a collection of some power pop/rock tunes with creative lyrics and song titles. There is a hint of influences of band greats such as the Beatles on tracks “The Art Of Letting Go” and Danger Boy.” Not only does Behm have strong and solid vocals, but he gives listeners a taste of his guitar abilities with clean-cut power chords on “Honesty.” The ballad “Lincoln” presents another side to the range this album has, as the piano highlights a rock solid accompaniment. Look no further than “Saving America” by Michael Behm if you want to hear some fun and enjoyable pop/rock music.
