Album Notes
Haven’t We Met? is Michael Bonanno’s eighth CD. Those who’ve purchased copies of Michael’s previous seven discs have discovered a new voice from a “mature” rocker. Michael brings the music of the baby boomers into the 21st century. However, Michael is able to wed the sounds of the sixties, seventies and eighties with the music of today. If you like The Beatles, you’ll like Michael Bonanno. If you like Counting Crows, you’ll like Michael Bonanno. If you like Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young (or no Young), you’ll like Michael Bonanno. If you like Foo Fighters, you’ll like Michael Bonanno. If you like Cat Stevens, you like Michael Bonanno. If you like Green Day, you’ll like Michael Bonanno. If you like Billy Joel, you’ll like Michael Bonanno. If you like Lifehouse, you’ll like Michael Bonanno.

Michael touches on Country-Rock with “The Thought Of Bobbi” and “The Love We Shared (When We Cared)”.

He adds a little easy listening with “Someone Else”, “Love You My Life Through” and “It’s Not Clear To Me”, a song in which Michael adds good music to Doreen Peri’s great lyrics. Those who purchased Michael’s CD From The Heart remember Doreen’s outstanding rendition of track number two, “I Can’t Be Owned”.

It wouldn’t be a Michael Bonanno CD without some political statements. “Dumpster Baby” should make clear Michael’s stand on a woman’s right to choose and the responsibilities of parents who decide to have a child. Michael also speaks to California’s 2011 referendum which could have finally legalized anyone’s right to choose whether or not to smoke pot with “I Soon Shall Find My Ki”.

Finally, there’s no better rock and roll than “Live My Life Without You”, “Tina” and “Misery”, in which Michael, once again, teams up with the UK’s Jamie Redhead.

As always, the talents and diversity of multitalented artist Michael Bonanno will be obvious on his eighth CD, Haven’t We Met?.
