Michael wrote throughout his whole career, and many of the treasures that made him unique as a composer in albums in the 1960s, such as his work with The Left Banke, Montage, Beckies, and Stories (not to mention his work with other individual artists), his works, also used in films, such as "The Bodyguard" and "Joyful Noise." Some of his writings were never published. Once critiqued by Leonard Bernstein as a unique composer, Michael left a wealth of completed works, along with song ideas, pieces, and session leftovers behind.
The following songs are unique in that Michael himself is featured as the vocalist on a few of thesse tracks. Many have been interested in Michael's process of writing. These songs, in fact, give a little peek into his very process. The inflections, the tempo, etc., that he envisioned the vocalist to have on his finished works, are now realized by the listener in this: his debuting of the vocal part.
