Album Notes
Steve Henderson (Guitarist Australia Magazine) writes:
"His interpretations of other people's tunes have a fresh individuality about them, while his own compositions draw on diverse influences to create a personal uniqueness that is easy to listen to, but hard to reproduce.

His fingerpicking is flawless, his sense of rhythm is completely controlled...

... Michael has an instrumental voice that is both a challenge to other guitarists and completely enjoyable to everyone."

(About Time Lines)
"In all the years that I've been performing, I have always included arrangements of covers in my set. I love playing covers - mostly they are personal favourites - but there is also a great deal of satisfaction to be gained from the creation of a unique arrangement.

Tunes evoke nostalgia, meaningful songs bisect the time lines of our lives and become aural bookmarks, marking significant events: first kiss, first date, holidays, marriage, break-ups …

As a 'music fan', I'm never surprised at the power of a song, but as a performer I sometimes surprise myself when I get caught up in a 'nostalgia moment' during my own performance - something that seems to be happening more frequently as I get older.

Mixed in with the seven covers on this album are seven of my own pieces. As always, these are personal musical snapshots. They are points on my own time line. "
