Album Notes
"Lump of Coal" spans the entire holiday season, beginning with the onslaught of shopping ("Black Friday's Eve"), a visit from a scary European Christmas monster (“The Krampus Comes Out Tonight”), a traditional carol covered on clawhammer banjo (“Go Tell It On the Mountain”) and a few live tunes, including Michael's road odyssey,“Highway 17″, with a few new verses.

I’d welcome this “Lump of Coal” in my stocking! This glows with the warmth of holiday good tidings. My favorite tune is “Entertaining an Angel”, closely followed by “Black Fridays Eve” “Krampus” is also fun, yet dark! I plan on playing this on my show. (David Howard, KVMR Radio, Nevada City CA)

Michael Gaither’s new CD, “Lump of Coal” is a nice addition to anyone’s holiday music collection. Listening to Michael’s songs is like having a friend tell you a story; a friend who is honest, witty, has a way with words and a wonderful, pleasing voice that makes it a joy to listen to. (Jackie Locken, KKUP Radio, Cupertino CA)

Love Love Love this CD. Michaels songs' Broke' and 'Entertaining an Angel 'make me cry and be joyous all at the same time and everyone needs to know about the Krampus! A wonderful musical selection and one to own and share and be proud of.

Merry Humbug
Michael, as always knows how to tell a great story in the most clever way. To me he's the Gary Larson (Of Far Side Fame) of the singer/songwriter world. These songs are all great stories and just so much fun to listen to!
