Album Notes
Multi award-winning singer/songwriter Michael Jacobs creates a compelling musical blend of roots rock and folk, and his songs reflect a deep passion to do good in the world by exploring a broad range of subjects, from individual to social issues.

His insights into what it means to be human are evident in every word and note. And while the songs are fruits of a well-traveled soul, they don't reflect a jaded one. His music will entertain, encourage, and challenge you. It will please your ears... and feed your soul. But don't just take our word for it; listen for yourself.

Michael’s professional music career began as a songwriter and guitarist in Nashville, TN. He started his solo career in 2002, with the release of the acclaimed CD, Sacred Nation. It received the 2003 Nammy Award for Best Independent Recording.

His follow-up, They Come Dancing, was nominated in 2004. The Journey, Michael’s third CD, received a 2006 ISMA Award, and was nominated for a 2006 Just Plain Folks Award and two 2007 NAMMY Awards. Mystery, Michael’s next release, received two 2008 ISMA Awards, for Best Pop Recording and Best Rock Recording. Chasing The Wind was nominated for four 2010 ISMA Awards. The Art Of Peace with its powerful blend of songs of love and loss, and commentary on social issues is insightful yet very entertaining. It received three 2012 ISMA Awards, and was nominated for two 2012 NAMMY Awards. Resisting Shadows is a phenomenal blend of sounds and textures that's guaranteed to lift your spirits, challenge your life, and set your feet to dancing. It has received three 2015 ISMA Awards, and is nominated for four 2017 Just Plain Folks Awards.

And in January 2018, Michael released his most powerful and polished work yet. The CD is called Change, and for good reason: It reflects a songwriting evolution that resulted in captivating anthems of celebration, contemplation, and defiance in the midst of struggle. Besides Michael's soaring vocals and solid guitar work, some of Nashville's best studio players also appear on this record.

To date, Michael's performed at over 260 colleges and universities in 45 states, besides numerous libraries, museums, festivals, fairs, house concerts, prisons and jails across the U.S. and Canada. His music's also been featured in numerous documentaries and video presentations - both commercial and promotional - and used by other groups in their live shows. A member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers since 1992, Michael's an accomplished musician and writing great songs remains his sole desire and fuels his ambition.
