Album Notes
Although I live in England (UK), I was brought up listening to Cowboy Music, from Artists like Gene Autry and Roy Rogers. As a teenager I grew to Like Hank Williams, Johnny Cash and other Country singers. When I was 17yrs old, I threw in a good job against my Parents wishes, and joined the Merchant Navy. So I travelled to many Countries and wherever I went in the world, on the Juke Boxes in the bars there was always Country music, and if there was a Mic in the bar,I would get up and sing. When I came out of the Navy I got married, but my drinking had got worse and my marriage broke up because of my alcoholism. I finished up living rough with other alcoholics and I was in a bad way. But as a young man I had made a decision to become a Christian, and now in my despair I turned to Jesus again and I was miraculously set free. I started going to Church and also I picked up a Guitar and I began to play in Church and also to write songs, both Country and Country Gospel. I had the pleasure of appearing on the Nashville Cowboy Church in Sept 2013, with George Hamilton IV. Sadly George has since passed away, but I'm happy to say that on my Album "Country's More than a Song" is a song that George and I did a Duet on called "There's Only One Name".
There's a lot more to my story than this, but my music can be heard on www.jango.com/music/Michael+J+Ramplin , and there is also some of my story there also. To bring things up to date, I am at present working on a new Country Gospel Album, which should be finished later this year. God Bless. Michael J Ramplin
