Ghosts

by Michael Wagner

If a ukulele and a drum machine had a baby, raised it on electronic, classical Persian, and West African music, and then both died relatively early in that baby's life, the baby would grow up to write and perform this album.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This album is a semi-concept album about love, loss and redemption (redemption being the ultimate collapse of civilization).
Yes, it's a ukulele album, but ukuleles can be earnest instruments too, but you have to hit them just right.

Speaking of hitting ukuleles just right: tracks 2, 3, 6 and 8 have no drums listed, but you will hear a drum playing. What is this mystery drum that isn't a drum? It's the ukulele! It's a playing technique I invented one fine mid-winter's day in 2004, while writing a joke Led Zepplin-esque song about hobbits. That song became "Spooky Uke", which is on my first album Love Songs & Miscellany. But enough about the past, it's time to live in the now and listen to an album about dwelling on the past until the world ends.

Enjoy.
