About the songs:

Define Love is a song about falling in love, being heartbroken and breaking some hearts along hearts along the way. "If you've been through all of the above it is time to write a new Definition of Love".

Unspoken Rule is a song about 'being in the friend zone'... "it's our Unspoken Rule to never touch or kiss, in order to maintain our friendship, but maybe... one day... things will change".

My Funny Valentine is such a beautiful classic and has been recorded by many amazing artists, Frank Sinatra and Chet Baker as highest ranking on that list. "So what can one add to that? Maybe not much, but I love this song, so I just couldn't help myself"

I'll Take It From Here is a Sunday morning reverie, a thank-you to the sun for casting shadows on your lover's body, initiating a romantic 'dance' until the sun sets again...

Child Of The Moon is a jazz waltz originally written for the daughter of a famous jazz singer and in Michael's words 'inspired by and maybe even supported by this jazz singer'. The song turns from jazz waltz to almost musical and back. A beautiful ode to the Moon and all of us who are influenced by her pale light.

About the artist:
Michael Wouters studied jazz piano at the Conservatory in Utrecht, the Netherlands. After graduation he performed in several bands as pianist and keyboard player. He started composing, writing and producing music at Soul Planet studios in Amsterdam where he worked for various (inter-)national artists before moving to Los Angeles where he worked with artists such as Billy Preston, Patti Labelle, Jennifer Holiday, Lisa Simone, Leah McCrae.

Michael's voice is raw, soft or intense & combined with skillful jazz chords and riffs on the piano he has created his own unique sound.

About the musicians:
Michael invited Jasper Somsen, whom he admires from his work with Enrico Pieranunzi and Bob Shepard a.o. and Jasper's lyrical bass lines compliment the piano and vocals in such a rich way, that it feels like a jazz dream come true.

The collaboration with Miles Mosley started after hearing Miles play in the Piano Bar in Los Angeles and approaching him to play bass on the track Child Of The Moon. It's quite different from Miles' amazing funk bass lines as we have come to know them, nonetheless this track has become a jewel on its own as well.

Marc Evans is a jazz and pop studio drummer based in Los Angeles and has worked on productions together with Michael.
