Album Notes
Dr. MICHELLE MILLIS CHAPPEL is an internationally-acclaimed singer-songwriter, speaker, coach, and author. She has a Ph.D. in psychology from Princeton and was voted “Most Inspirational Professor” at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she taught cognition and creativity.

Despite being called “crazy” by a few colleagues, she ditched academics to follow her dream to be a rock star. Since then, she’s won 17 International Songwriting awards and been chosen as one of the top 100 artists in the world by Billboard Magazine. Her tunes have topped European, South African, and U.S. college radio charts, and appeared on ABC, HBO, Encore, and Showtime.

Michelle uses music and psychology in her talks, workshops, and coaching programs to help thousands of people, ages 8 to 84, discover their unique gifts and use these superpowers to excel in work, school, and life.

This is Michelle's ninth CD and contains the best of her hooky upbeat songs which also appear in her upcoming book. Think of it as your own personal feel-good radio station that can help you move through challenging times and reach your dreams.

“In her music, she's extending her psychology training, reaching out to help people explore their lives and dreams. Her music is beautiful. The beat and the sound are really compelling, and underneath all that, the lyrics really reach people.” Andrew Gilbert - The San Jose Mercury News

“A number of Chappel’s songs have hit written all over them” Beth Peerless - The Monterey Herald

“Chappel's music is often rollicking and upbeat and meant to serve as a kind of shot in the arm to her listeners... It's all part of her Herculean effort to kick-start people's own ingenuity to make their lives better.” Wallace Baine - Santa Cruz Sentinel

“Each song was punctuated by uproarious applause, and the end of the session brought a scream of 'Encore!' so loud it seemed to shake the walls.” Christine Dithridge - City on the Hill Press

“Folk music has always been a beacon of hope for the troubled, with poets like Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen echoing the tribulations of a wretched generation. Michelle Chappel continues the mission to speak for the people and send out a message of hope to an economically derailed society.” Aitor Zabalegui - The Santa Clara

“All of it—the creative impulse, the concern for others, the agency to act on that concern—is par for the course for Chappel who(se) songs send messages of uplift.” Traci Hukill - Metro Santa Cruz

“If she imparts a sense of hope and optimism to her audiences, then Chappel feels like her music has succeeded.” Weekend Santa Cruz

“In a world filled with 'cookie cutter' recording artists, Michelle Chappel stands head and shoulders above the crowd.” Greg Edmunson, music composer for the hit TV series King of the Hill and the cult TV series Firefly

“Michelle’s music heals. I haven’t seen anything like Michelle since I interviewed Shakti Gawain (author of Creative Visualization), and John Gray (author of Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus) before he made it big. She’s a star.” Emmy Moore Minister, TV show host of - Voice of the Valley

"I am so glad Michelle shared her music and spirit. It couldn’t have been more perfect." Eric Odel, Minister, Amazing Grace, Seattle, WA
