Mic Starink. Real Name. No Gimmicks. Artist, Producer, MC, songwriter, Author, Gypsy, Prototype.....
Canada's winner and representative of the 2014 Planetrox competition, and Calgary's top MC. Mic takes hip hop lyrics and powerfully written vocals to make his own genre breaking style.

Born in Edmonton AB, Mic started his journey to music as a traditional writer. His natural talent for writing was coupled with a love for the art. Since day one Mic has been influenced by ALL genres of music. He always felt he owes his passion for the arts to his mothers stories of their heritage. as the grandson of a singing Magyar and a Romani (commonly called Gypsies), he always felt very connected to their culture. He began experimenting with lyricism at age ten, writing to rock ballads and RnB. At age twelve Mic found his true love discovering Hip-Hop. Keeping his talent a secret until he was 17, the skinny adolescent was thrown into a vicious circle during a cypher and unleashed a few bars from his arsenal. The overwhelming response and after taste of adrenaline was euphoric to say the least. Despite Mic's desire to chase the dream of a music career, at age 21 became a father. Deciding it was more important to have a full time job to provide for his kids and live in the city same city as their mother . However, this did not stop Mic from writing. The embers were still smoldering, even going as far as making his own beats, gaining skills and experience in sound engineering, and taking on thousands of dollars in debt for the equipment to do so. Fatherhood and Calgary's fast-paced lifestyle kept Mic dormant as an artist until 2010 when he met his Manager Ryan Anderson.(Director of Public Relations and Artist management for True Rhythm). Breathing new life into the possibility of Mic making records as a performing artist. Since that time, and with great momentum, Mic has found himself at the top of Calgary's heavily populated hip hop scene. Working with producers Pat Neeland (aka Stoney, Edm. AB), Kalman Gouldkuil (aka KG Precise of Hidden Elementz, CEO of http://www.truerhythm.ca), and Mic's own musical compositions; he built an arsenal of music that started the whispers of his reputation as one of the best undiscovered artists in not just Calgary, but all of Canada.
