Album Notes
"Waiting for the Moment" is the seventh release from Mic Stimms. The band is known for their mixture of electronica, rock, and progressive themes.

Building upon strong, looping, electronic beats, veteran bass guitarist Clancy Gwynn crafts his unique blend of jazz and rock style to create a solid foundation for every song. Veteran keyboardist Jamie Park infuses his blend of synthesizers and B3 organ to the mix, while veteran guitarist Ryk Allyn injects his powerful rock guitar riffs to complement the sound. Progressive and thought-provoking lyrics make up the final ensemble to the band's mix, which leaves the listener coming back for more.

The band has been compared to a mixture of Pink Floyd, The Cars, Nine Inch Nails, and Van Halen - all of which have influenced the musicians. The music can best be described as ethereal - something to experience rather than use as a dancing prop. Listening to the CD in headphones or earbuds is a great experience as you can hear the dynamics of the instruments and the band's use of sound as they move it through space. Close your eyes and you begin to visualize the music and experience more than just a song.

The lyrics are deep and abstract - allowing the user to draw their own conclusions to their meaning and thus, making the song more personal. The CD has an ebb and flow to it - wrapping the listener within the experience as they move from one song to another. The tempo of the songs are mostly in the 120 beats per minute range with some songs running in the 80 to 90 bpm range and others in the 130 to 140 bpm range.

Jamie Park dedicated this CD to his wife - the title song was written for her, and her eyes were used on the cover of the CD. The song explores the complexity of the relationship between two people and how their relationship strengthens and grows as they experience life together - culminating in the "Moment" - that point in time where they realize that they have become defined beyond their individualism.

If you are into this style of music, then these tracks are worth placing into your library.
