ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Mighty Girl is an Orange County New York based, original, pop/rock band that performs songs written by Swedish-born singer-songwriter and guitarist Lena Fahringer. Lena is the granddaughter of Finnish composer Harry Bergstrom, author of Finnish film scores and radio productions. The band formed in 2005. The Times Herald Record writes about them: “Much like the indie darlings Real Estate, (Mighty Girl) has a refreshing summery sound that borrows from the Kinks and descendants of the low-fi pop-punk movement”. The Chronogram writes: “Lena’s Fahringer’s vocal style is a cool Nico having lunch with Aimee Mann at an uptown 60’s chanteuse festival”. Other Mighty Girl members are Nashville cat, guitarist and singer Mark McNutt, bassist John Knowles who joined the band in 2019, and drummer Bill Fahringer. Up until 2019, the band's original bassist and founding member, was Bob Torsello. He performed the tracks on all three of the band's releases. The band has three released records: Long Gone (2007), Ultraview (2010), and Rabbit Hole (2019). The band performs at select venues and outdoor festivals throughout the Hudson Valley.
