Album Notes
I am a 26-year-old musician / composer from Finland. I have played piano since I was four years old. During 2004-2010 I studied at the Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences, Degree Programme in Music - I graduated in 2010 with excellent grades. A few months after that I also finished my specialization studies there. During my time at school I gained experience in performing solo and also as a collaborative pianist. During 2005-2008 I did chamber music concerts around Finland with violinist Sakari Tervo, and in October 2007 I and the Finnish soprano Marjukka Tepponen participated in the national series of the Pentti Koskimies Lied Competition in Kokkola, Finland and won the 2nd prize. During 2008-2009 I was also a pianist and correpetitor at Johann Strauss II's famous operetta "Die Fledermaus" (The Bat), produced and performed by operet theater Operettiteatteri Bravo! (www.operetti.fi). Since April 2004 I also have regularly accompanied the Finnish Christian singer Eija Merilä.

In addition to playing piano, I also have arranged and composed music, both at school and during free time - and I continue to do so nowadays. In the summer of 2006 I had an idea to start to compose some music with some influences from classical music and movie soundtracks. My main influences in that genre have been Vangelis, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, and other contemporary film composers. During 2007-2010 I was busy at school and had some other time-demanding projects, so I didn't have much time to create my own music, but everything has calmed down and again I have more time to do things that I enjoy!

If you want me to perform my music live in some event, be it Finland or abroad, please feel free to contact me via MySpace or by sending email to aijenator@gmail.com or mika.aijalainen@uusikaupunki.fi.
