Album Notes
"Ten years in the making, folk rocker Mike Acerbo's debut album, The Search, is set to release on February 14th, 2012. The Search is at once intensely personal and universal - rich with themes of love, loss and the search for self. The album combines a unique combination of sounds, drawing comparison to the likes of Sufjan Stevens, The Avett Brothers and Guster. With intricate arrangements of cellos, fiddles, piano, recorders, brass and guitars -the album unwinds into a fairytale full of dark imagery, with an other-worldly feel that battles that of Florence & The Machine. "
- The Grateful Wire (Dec 14, 2011)

"Acerbo’s musical talents run the gamut from country to pop and everything in between."
- Brianna Soloski, Girl Seeks Place (Dec 23, 2011)

"'The Search' details the hero's quest for himself, painting images of forests and journeys with the flute and cello."
- Joe Calabrese, The Aquarian Weekly (Dec 28, 2011)

"Acerbo is a storyteller and it shows on every track. His strongest quality is one often found in great authors. He uses metaphor to create visuals that lift upbeat moments higher and add greater depth to moments of despair. "
- Lionel B Queen, Digital Hippos (Jan 10, 2012)

"“Fairy Tale Love” is a great example of the rich complexity in Acerbo’s music. It starts with almost monk-like chanting and tribal drums; next, finger-picked guitar kicks in, then a wailing electric guitar and a mellow piano melody on top of that. This continues to build throughout the song"
- Mike Koehler, Play by Play (Jan 13, 2012)
