Album Notes
A small town in the Southern Rockies is hardly where you would expect to find a talent like Mike Addington, but it's Red River, NM he calls home now. A singer/songwriter and guitarist, Mike moved to Red River after plying his trade in the Los Angelos area for many years. It's almost as if he had to move to an isolated town with a population of less than 500 to get the recognition he has long deserved.

Mike never questioned what he would "be" when he grew up. Mike still recalls the moment he walked into his family kitchen and saw his dad with the guitar. He knew at then, at age six, he would "be" a musician. Watching his Uncle Hobie on banjo and dad on guitar, Mike learned chord changes and met his first mistress - music.

Listening to Mike's music, you know this man has paid his dues and is a cum laude graduate of "Honkey-tonk U." He's equally adept with both acoustic and electric guitar, but it's his ability to wrench your gut with finely penned lyrics and music that speak to our universally shared emotions.

"Horizon and Main" was recorded in Alamosa, CO at Howlin' Dog Recording by Don Richmond, a one man band if ever there was one. Although the recording took about a year, this CD was decades in the making. All music & lyrics on "Horizon and Main" were written by Mike.
