The Songs I Sing

by Mike Andes

Besides being a great guy, Mike Andes has to have one of the coolest, most distinctve, and refreshingly honest voices in bluegrass. Great songs like these makes this a great performance. - Kyle Cantrell, SiriusXM , Bluegrass Junction

Album Notes
Most people know me as the lead singer and front man for the bluegrass band Nothin' Fancy. For nearly twenty years we have toured the United States, Canada, and Europe. I have recorded eight full length albums with Nothin' Fancy and have written many of the recorded songs. Through the years fans have asked, when will you record a solo album ? Well the time has come. The Songs I sing is my first solo project and I am so proud of this album.
I spent hours going through my inventory of original songs and chose what best describes me, as a singer, songwriter, musician and person. As you listen to this album you will notice I am not embedded in traditional bluegrass but can't help have a little in some of my songs. You may hear a bit of country, a smidge of jazz, a sprinkle of southern rock and all the while knowing this is a bluegrass album. I believe you will settle into hearing originality and that is what I wish for.
I am so proud of the all-star crew that brought this project to life. Marshal Wilborn - bass. Mark Delaney - banjo. Chris Sexton - fiddle, viola, cello and baritone harmony. Mark Clifton - dobro and weissenborn guitar. Becky Mason - harmony vocals. Mike Andes - rhythm and lead guitar, mandolin and lead vocals.
To those fans who have asked for a Mike Andes solo album, I believe The Songs I Sing was worth the wait and for those who have never heard of me I feel it's worth a try.
Thank you for you time and consideration,

Mike Andes
