Album Notes
Singer-songwriter and US Marine Mike Corrado’s latest album “Attic Sessions” is a compilation of many of his most popular songs. Voted on by fans, these recordings are stripped down, acoustic versions of songs spanning over two decades of performing and songwriting. “I’ve been wanting to do an acoustic album for years and I relied on friends and fans to pick the songs they wanted to hear” Corrado says.

Being in the military means frequent moves. After a recent move, Corrado discovered a room in the attic that the previous homeowner and Elvis impersonator had built to create backing tracks and work on his show. “It was a pleasant surprise and I took it as a sign to get to work. It was the perfect spot to build my studio and be creative. I wanted to break the songs down to the bare elements of vocals and acoustic guitar. I was also fortunate to have some friends visit, lend their talents and replicate the feel of live acoustic shows.”

Lend their talents they did. Several songs include longtime friends and touring members of the Mike Corrado Band, such as Stacey Lamont Sydnor on percussion, Steven Thorne on saxophone and Tommy Brothers, Josh Burns and Jon Lassiter on guitars adding supporting instrumentation to the songs but careful to allow the song, feel and Corrado’s vocals to shine through. The album has the feel of a small, intimate listening room or performance in your living room. “We kept in all the little imperfections like a chair squeaks or the occasional jet noise from military maneuvers in the area, it just makes it more real, I think.”

Best known for poignant songs relating to love of Country and military service, included on Attic Sessions are songs like “Stand,” “On My Watch Tonight,” and “Lucky One.” The album also contains other fan favorites like “Second Time Around,” “Bottle of Sunshine,” “Cut Me Loose,” “Start Saving Me,” and more. Mike also included a brand new song “Watching an Angel Sleep” as an added bonus. If you’re a fan of Mike Corrado or the Mike Corrado Band, you definitely want Attic Sessions in your music library and playlists.
