Mike Gent

by Mike Gent

Third solo record from The Figgs singer/guitarist sounds like a blend of the Pete Townshend / Ronnie Lane record "Rough Mix", and Rod Stewart's "Never A Dull Moment".

Good low key pop album
I've been a huge Figgs/Mike Gent fan forever, and I loved The Intake, his last album. This new one is pretty mellow but really grows on you. The best songs like Haste and Wrath and False Alarms are better than his songs on the last Figgs album in my opinion, but they're also a lot different which is a good thing. As always, his voice is great and it's nice to have anything new from Mike. The only thing that bothers me is that this one is called his third solo record and I've NEVER seen any evidence of his first. I hope he'll reissue that one soon.
