John Ashford

.........taking the jazz guitar into the 21st Century
Thank goodness Dom Minasi decided to re-enter the arena! All the original Blue Note jazz guitar idioms are tastefully updated here in a 2004 release, using a hard-driving sax/organ/drum section who obviously feel very comfortable in whatever settings Dom places them. This album is a blend of standards and new directions, featuring progressive material composed by the artist, recorded with warmth and detail. The packaging is suitably classy as well. Get this album, then research Dom Minasi's earlier material; you will be rewarded!
