ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Missisquoi River Band hails from Northern Vermont. They play original and traditional bluegrass music with some blues and folk influences. The three main members are Patrick Murphy and Jim and Cindy Weed who together form the songwriting and vocal backbone of the band . Strong picking is provided by string wizard Will Patton on mandolin and National Steel tenor guitar, Neil Rossi on fiddle and Bill Gaston on banjo and Dobro. Jim Weed's guitar solos also shine. Favorite songs include Murphy's "If My Girl Friend was a Tractor" and "The Raid" which tells the story of the 1864 Confederate raid on the town of St. Albans VT which was the northern most engagement of the Civil War. Jim Weed's " Highgate Road" and Cindy Weed's " Love That Never Failed." Though this is MRB's first cd, all the musician are well seasoned players which makes this cd a delight.
