Forgetful Ocean and Other Strange Stories

by Miwa

Forgeful Ocean is like a collection of short stories. Each with its own mood and melody, all stranded together beautifully by beads of bygone era. Think Andersen meets Flannery O'Connor and you are half way there.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Turn around, look around, there's no one around...and Charlie Chaplin broke my heart."

Miwa's been called magical before. That's fine by her because she always felt that this world could use a little more magic and a good sense of humor. She must channel the moon and butterflies when she strums her guitar, and her voice is a bit like getting caught in bubbles of champagne, if you like that sort of thing. It's like wind sometimes resembles a soft spring breeze and sometimes that howling echo running through the bayou. It's like a home cooked meal, simple with all the goodness. And if you have been looking for home...well she can take you there however brief it may be.

Miwa's vocals and soft guitar threading lulls me to a heavenly place
Miwa's third album entitled "Forgetful Ocean and Other Strange Stories" is a symposium of short stories woven together beautifully with their own riveting mood and melody, and stranded collectively by Miwa's penetrating vocal resonance. Miwa's lore for storytelling and her talent for melodic guitar strummings make for a pleasantly sonic album enriched with vocal lullaby lilts and chord sequences that captive her audience's emotive senses.

In the spaces of humanity, arrives a lady with her porcelain cat
Please forgive the short version thing (above). I got creative :-)

I like her music because it has a certain scent to it. It is.... well for me... it has a certain sound, that mixes hope, sadness, and a sense of life. I don't know how to really say it, except that it is great stuff. I am sure that in the right environment... well, she is wonderful, her songs are wonderful. Thanks and Keep it up - Adi.
