ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Jesus Wept is the first release from Mary K. Shanahan's new live concert offering Child of the Chain ™ and her upcoming CD from the show entitled The Promise. It’s the beginning, the middle and the end of this new compilation of songs that marry the teachings of Jesus Christ to everyday life. Written by lyricist Mary Dawson and composer Bruce Greer, Shanahan believes Jesus Wept is one of the most important songs penned in the last century about Christ's humanity. The words are a poignant and powerful reminder that Christ understands the challenges and trials of the human experience because He lived among us.

Jesus Wept has been released to EWTN Worldwide Catholic Radio, national Christian Radio, and to most major download services. The song aired for the first time on 9/11 on EWTN, and remained the #1 download on www.catholicmusicnetwork.com for the next four weeks!

Produced by Gospel Music’s Grammy Award winner Chris Morris (Reflections- O’Landa Draper and The Associates), with the assistance of renowned composer Rudy Davenport and Grammy- nominated Producer Eric Paul (Poet: A Tribute to Townes Van Zandt), the lush tracks were recorded at Bismeaux Studio in Austin, with Chris Morris on strings, Rudy Davenport on grand piano, Omar Lopez on violin, Jacob Lowery on electric bass, Rich Brotherton on acoustic guitar and Jason Meekins on percussion. Eric Paul captured the haunting vocal at Clearmix Studios, also in Austin.
