Album Notes
Prolific singer/songwriter, Molly Annelle, was born into a world of song, literally. Her mother and an Irish nurse, who happened to be on duty that morning, sang old Irish tunes throughout the labour. Music ushered her into a waiting world full of melodies. Molly began writing songs when she was just two years old. Her first hit, “Eyeballs in the Sky” was performed from her high chair to delighted dinner guests and family members. She began learning to play the piano when she was three, won Young Composer of the Year by writing a four-piece harmony; soprano, tenor, alto and bass, for the Vancouver Chamber Choir when she was nine, recorded her first EP when she was ten and has gone from musical strength to strength since then, culminating in this CD at the age of 14. She had to pick from a vast catalogue of songs. She eventually chose these eleven. “It’s like picking which one of my children I prefer,” she says about the difficult process of having to choose one song over the many that flow from her incredibly creative brain.
Molly’s drive to make music comes from a raison d’être, which began when she was small and continues to grow as she herself grows physically, mentally and creatively. She says that she is influenced by all genres of music…classic rock, jazz, rap, pop, R&B. Mostly, she enjoys discovering that frustration, joy, pain and anger can be expressed in words and melodies. Simply put, it’s therapy for her.
“I’m inspired by the children in the world who accomplish things without being constrained by their youth, living or social conditions,” she says, “those that are strong and persist despite prejudices from other people who think that they cannot succeed and shouldn’t even try.”
Being seated at the piano and in a way, behind it, has always felt like a safe place for Molly while she composes her songs.
"Music converts feelings that take on their own life forms when I play those white and black keys,” she says.
This is why she continues to build her piano, songwriting and performing skills. She has performed in front of audiences at numerous school galas, community events, restaurants, bistros and fundraising events.
“Whether you’re young or old, don’t let your age define you,” she says. "Old or young, it’s never too early or late to pursue your dream; be it raising money for charity, starting a campaign or making an album. Age is just a number. What really counts is the motive to do the right thing and inspire others, creating an endless cycle of outreach, motivation and love.”

I love this album - Molly Annelle's Melody!
The album feels genuine, authentic, and honest. I loved how she experimented with different genres, no song is 'the same'. I felt so many different feelings from the album, I was honestly deeply moved. I love how Molly Annelle used metaphors in her songs. I listened to the entire album and loved every song. You can listen to the whole album at once and not get bored or if you need a specific song to match a certain mood you can do that too. It's a passionate masterpiece!
