ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Molly Healey is a violinist, cellist, and singer-songwriter from Springfield, Missouri. After touring for years as a bluegrass and country fiddler for various other nationally-touring acts, she began a solo project in 2015, crafting original compositions by looping her cello, violin, and voice. Since recording her debut album, Nightbirds, she has added bassist Kyle Day, electric guitarist Zach Harrison, and drummer Danny Carroll to the bill. On her newest release, Human, she has used these new players, along with the addition of her own acoustic guitar, to bring the sound to a new and more complex level of songwriting. Dubbed "folk-inspired orchestral looping", it is not only a unique sonic counterpoint, but a thoughtful lyric commentary, as well. Her sound is reminiscent of Andrew Bird, Zoe Keating, and other up-and-coming looping artists, but with the novel instrumentation and classically powerful vocal qualities, she has a sound that is truly her own.
