ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
French piano music of the 18th and early 20th centuries is the quintessential French music!!! The great composers Couperin and Rameau were seemingly ahead of their time in the 18th century. Debussy and Ravel”s music became the cornerstones of the 20th c. repertoire. I adore French music and moved to France for 8 years when I was 26 to study music and absorb the culture. These selections are some of my favorites from the French repertoire and represent different flavors of Baroque, Neoclassical and Neo-Baroque style.

Highly Recommended
In her CD French, Molly Knight takes a superb selection of pieces from the late eighteenth and early twentieth centuries, playing them exquisitely and lovingly. Although I liked its dreamy quality immediately, the more I listened to the CD, I found myself becoming ever more enamored of the music. Ms. Knight’s virtuoso performance and her attention to each detail and nuance is displayed within an artfully integrated whole of each piece and of the entire album, yielding an emotionally stirring listening experience.
