ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Judge Alan Glasser (aka Mondo Fax, the Singing Judge) now releases his second folk rock acoustic CD featuring original songs and lyrics, drawing from his favored influences. Seeger, Baez, Dylan, Ochs, New Christy Minstrels, Serendipity Singes, Redbone, Mitchell and other influences wend their way through the palette of the judge’s original material. Joining, Scott Manzo on Bass and electric guitar (Three Dog Night), Chet McCracken on drums and percussion (The Doobie Brothers) and Andre Mayeux on keyboards (juice Newton) round out the group of fine musicians. Adhering to basics (guitar, bass, harmonica) in the pure “folk” songs (Melt Away, Pendulum, Placerita Mine), the other musicians are added in more current acoustic sounds (Just One World, Lucky Days, Truckin’ Up the Truckee, Inn Of The Sixth Happiness). The Judge includes his second Cantonove (Inn Of The Sixth Happiness). Inspired by the movie of the same name, and pays tribute the styles of all the above greats. The Judge demonstrates his musical, lyrical and performance diversity in a wide variety of picking styles, feels and slack key tunings. Judge Alan Glasser is also known as Mondo Fax â, the Singing Judge when he performs as that character singing original irreverent and biting social musical satires. In all, this will be the Judge’s eighth CD.

Judge Alan Glasser’s celebrated character, Mondo Fax, The Singing Judge (TM), is the world's most irreverent comedy socio/political songwriter. The Judge is also an attorney and has regularly served as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Los Angeles Superior and Municipal Courts for many years. His hits include Rick Dee's "Eat My Shorts", "Saving Hanukkah For Monica", "Dog Doo In The Dark" and many others. He's been played by Dr. Demento, and stole the show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival appearing on all major talk shows and being featured in all major papers. Mondo has written a humorous law series (Slam Dunk Law), as well as a novel (fiction), "Buying Time" and his second play, "So's Your Whole Family".
