ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Monica Xiao is an award-winning multifaceted pianist and composer. Her jazzy style classical and world music have gained her a unique crowd of fans who prefer something more sophisticated than just "romantic piano". She has gained popularity especially among people with classical music background.

The album ”Piano Droplets" since being published, has helped many to feel calm, happy, relaxed, to reduce their worries and even pain. The 12 elaborately chosen pieces span a period of 5 years during which the composer lived on three different continents. Each piece is telling the audience how the composer sees her inner self in relation to a different time and place. It is not an album for parties or crowds, but for keeping to oneself and meditating. Each song has its own dramatic moment, like opening a gift box that contains a crystal jewel of a unique design, so it may take a bit of attention to enjoy. "I found a strong force in me which drives me forward: It is the excitement discovering something beyond expectation and imagination", which she wrote about her reason to compose, is a great explanation of that style.
