Album Notes
Australian/New York musician Monique diMattina leads a triple life as a jazz/roots singer songwriter, ballet mother/cake-baker and composer of exquisitely crafted piano miniatures. Sun SIgns displays her third personality in characteristically succinct tones, and is very much a second chapter to diMattina's 2007 solo piano album Senses - praise for which is collected below. diMattina's fresh, contemporary compositional voice reflects diverse influences from Bach through French Impressionism to subtle echoes of the jazz/blues tradition. Music that feeds the mind while it calms the soul.

Timeless piano dreams and improvisations – the thinking person’s zen escape.

This exquisite recording is a wonderful example of the creative spirit in the music of Monique diMattina. It is enhanced by a tone, touch and sensitivity at the keyboard which can only be found in artists of high caliber. A beautiful listening experience.
