The Heart of Worship
This album is still as good as when I first heard it 30 years ago. The songs are timeless and can be used for congregational singing. A companion song book is available. No worship album give me personally the spiritual uplift than this one. It really is one of a kind.

Returning to Joy
Hearing these songs again, which I enjoyed so long ago, with prayer group pals, in a small Catholic college in North Carolina, which sadly, no longer exists, except in our memories, is a real affirmation of the things that don't change, no matter how much our lives do.

Coming from my five speaker system, the Monks of the Weston Priory's harmonious voices and instruments, and that gorgeous trumpet, in particular, , breathe such richness and depth of feeling into familiar passages, that I carry them with me...and they are a joy, a comfort and a reassurance. If you want some music that will create a warm, secure, contemplative space, wherever you are...this is a wonderful choice. "Go Up To The Mountain" is the perfect CD to put on before starting dinner or while doing chores around the house, the thanksgiving of the songs and the smoothness of both vocals and music makes everyday tasks seem, well like an integral and meaningful part of the big picture. If you knew "Go Up To The Mountain," from an old vinyl LP, back in the late 1970's, you already know that...perhaps you remember singing many MWP songs in your church folk group. If you are new to the Monks of
Weston Priory, and are thinking about trying this CD out, you might want to sample my favorite from these 14 tracks, "If I Be Lifted Up." It soars, and like all the songs on this collection, it is not only full of joyand praise, it is also a song of reassurance and power, to carry with you, and carry you through your day.

Yes, I still have all kinds of music in my CD changers;forty years worth of music; rock, Goth, southern plains drum music, easy listening, myriad soundtracks, and even a few classical titles, but I also have plenty of room for the Monks of the Weston Priory, and this CD I have sidled right up next to "Winter's Coming Home," one of their classics which, I am sorry to say, does not seem to be available right now from CDbaby, but which is available, on disc, from the Weston Priory website,. Next one I will be after, will be "Spirit Alive." If you heard that one, way back when, then you know why I will be seeking out that spiritual gem. How great is that; these early albums of the Monks of Weston Priory being so easily available now--terrific!
