Album Notes
Monogatari is sprung from the mind of the composer and musician Sebastian Ungh. Located in southern Sweden he produces instrumental music with a wide range of influences. It's mainly based in a sort of rootsy tradition, but he is mixing it freely with electronica, kraut, progressive music, classic composition and indie to create a sound world of his own.

Sebastian is playing a great many instruments and often mixes guitar, charango, synthezisers, keyboards, flutes, whistles, recorders, ronroco, melodica, banjo, bouzouki, violin, accordion, ukelele, kalimba, saz, toy piano, stylophone, harmonium, organ, khaen, drums and percussion.

When Monogatari released it's first album, "It may have seemed like a sign of hope that the birds followed them out into the vastness of the open sea", 2008, it got some enthusiastic rewievs in swedish media. It was highly reccomended by the acclaimed folk/jazz magazine Lira and were called "one of the ten best albums of the year" in the music magazine groove.

"One Step Forward and Two Steps Back" released April 2013 was the first record in a trilogy. The music on that album is totally acoustic and mainly based around acoustic string instruments like ukelele, charango, guitar, saz, bouzouki and banjo.

Also in 2013, "It's Almost Like a Dance." an album full of electric guitars, drums and bass, saw the light of day.

The third album in the trilogy, "Come On, Lets Shake It!" got released 2014 and was centered on synthezisers and keyed instruments, but contained many string instruments as well.

2018 a live EP - Live in the Livingroom became available and 2019 started with the release of Sånger på svenska - en EP.

All the song are composed, performed, recorded and produced by Sebastian Ungh.
